The Porirua Pastoral Area is made up of four parishes:

• – Our Lady of Hope Parish, Tawa-Titahi Bay
• – St Theresa’s Parish, Plimmerton
• – Holy Family Parish, Porirua East
• – Te Ngakau Tapu, Personal Parish for Maori

These four parishes work together, sharing the gifts of each in order to more fully present the face of God to the world. By joining together in some functions they are more effective than when they operate alone.

The parishes sometimes hold joint celebrations of the Sacraments of First Holy Communion, First Reconciliation, and Confirmation. This is a sharing the celebration of these Sacraments of Initiation with the wider Pastoral Area and sharing the resources and talents from each parish in the preparation of the children.

The Priests of the Pastoral Area meet regularly to share their wisdom and support each other in their ministry. The Pastoral Area Council meets every two months and looks at ways in which the Parishes can co-operate more fully.
